Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World will release later this month.
Publisher ININ Games have been tight-lipped for a while now about when players could expect to play Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World, but today in a press release they've confirmed that May 28th is the date when the game will release.
The game, which has players in the role of a young protagonist named Asha and their trusty companion Pepelogoo, is a remake of the original 1994 game, but the story will not be changed. However, a lot of the features of the game have been revitalized to breathe new life into the remake.
Together, Asha and Pepelogoo must band together to free the four spirits that have been confined by evil forces. Who these 'evil' forces are will be discovered as the game is played.
Fans of the original game will be overjoyed to know that if they decide to purchase a physical copy of Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World, they'll be able to grab the original version of the game - warts and all! This offer is only available for North America, Europe and Australia.
Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World will release on May 28th, 2021 for the Nintendo Switch and the PS4, with backwards compatibility for the PS5.
