New Shin Megami Tensei V Trailer Teases Morality System and More

Following Nintendo's E3 2021 presentation, Atlus released a lengthy Shin Megami Tensei 5 story trailer introducing the protagonist's friends and hinting at a few of the tribulations to come.

We knew from the initial trailer a dimensional shift throws Tokyo into chaos, but the hero isn't alone. At least three of those blurry-faced students have important roles to play in shaping the new godlesss world.

Atlus has kept quiet on how the Shin Megami Tensei 5 law, neutral, chaos system works - whether it's all chaos, as in Shin Megami Tensei 3, or if you'll have to align with one of the classic visions for the world's future such as Shin Megami Tensei 4's companions make you do.

New Shin Megami Tensei V Trailer Teases Morality System and More

Whatever happens, Tokyo's situation is more complex than the first teasers suggested.

An organization called Bethel is operating in the demon-infested city with goals unknown, and there's a divide between the hero and everyone else after the protagonist fuses with a deity, thanks to the blasphemous power it grants him.

The trailer also gives a sneak peak at new areas, including a blood-soaked schoolhouse, a Shinto temple in flames, and more.

There's talk of sacrifice, war between angels and demons, and the ever-present threat of what happens to your friends when they get in too far over their heads.

Shin Megami Tensei 5 releases November 11 on Nintendo Switch. Check out the new trailer below
