Who Is Brewster in Animal Crossing?

Name: Brewster
Birthday: October 15th
Occupation: Owner and Barista of The Roost

Brewster is a character from the Animal Crossing franchise and he can almost always be found serving cups of coffee from his own little coffee bar. He may be a character of few words but his company whilst drinking a cup of his coffee is oddly comforting. The location of his coffee shop altered through the past games but he was always ready to sell you a cup of his perfect brew.

Is Brewster Coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

Yes, Brewster is coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons as part of the update on November 5th, 2021! All you need to do is make your way to The Roost on the upper level of your town Museum to visit Brewster and drink a delicious cup of coffee. When you're in there, Isabelle may even visit to keep you company!

You can now use amiibo cards to invite characters to join you for a little break at the coffee shop and sometimes they will bring along a surprise guest of their own! Also, multiple players can be in The Roost at one time which makes it a great spot to meet up and unwind after a long day running your Island.

The History of Brewster

We show you all you need to know about Brewster's history in previous games and explain why his arrival has caused such excitement.

Brewster in Animal Crossing: Wild World

Brewster has been a part of the franchise of games since Wild World in 2005. He can be found by entering your museum then heading down the stairs to your left. The stairs will take you down to a small but atmospheric café with Brewster standing behind the counter.

Here, you can choose to sit at the bar and have a cup of coffee which will set you back 200 Bells. You can only have one cup of coffee per day in this game so the price isn't too bad. Often Brewster will come out with little bits of information about making coffee but apart from that, he's not one of the game's most talkative characters.

The cafe itself can also play host to K.K Slider. When he's playing you can go up to the stage to watch him but his presence doesn't seem to impact Brewster at all.

Brewster in Animal Crossing: City Folk

Brewster next appears in the 2008 game City Folk. In this, he is found in exactly the same way and the interactions are pretty much the same apart from one thing. From interactions with the barista over a few weeks, you find out that he did once have a shop in the city but he sold it in favour of moving to the small town to open The Roost after meeting Museum Curator, Blathers.

Once you pay for and have 7 cups of coffee, Brewster will start to offer to store a Gyroid for you if you've got one in your pockets. Brewster will only store 1 of each type of Gyroid for you.

K.K Slider still has his stage in The Roost but his performances still don't seem to bother Brewster.

Brewster in Animal Crossing: New Leaf

2013's New Leaf is where Brewster's role in the game changed. He still sells coffee so there's no need to worry about that. However, you need to put in some hard work and a lot of Bells to be able to unlock him this time.

Public works projects are a big part of this game and building The Roost is one of the options you have. You must build The Roost in order to get Brewster and his delicious cups of coffee!

Brewster seems to have mellowed slightly in this game as he gives you multiple options for how you would like your coffee to be brewed and after buying 3 cups of coffee he will even let you order the drink to go. That's not all, after buying 7 cups of coffee he will then let you work behind the counter of The Roost as a barista! When you do this you will be tasked with making coffee orders for other residents and if you do a good job, you will be rewarded with furniture!

Brewster in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp

Brewster made a brief appearance in Pocket Camp, the 2017 Animal Crossing app game where you get to travel around and make your own little campsite. He hosted a garden event called Brewster's Sweet Harvest Flower Event in 2018 but he hasn't been seen to participate in any events since.

It's fair to say that Brewster has been a staple character in the Animal Crossing franchise since its earliest games and this could be why his impending arrival in New Horizons is highly anticipated.
