Animal Crossing New Horizons patch 1.1.1 removes item duplication exploit so you'll actually have to play the game now


Animal Crossing New Horizons may only be a few days old, but Nintendo has already dropped a patch.

The big change is that patch 1.1.1 removes the chance to cheat by duplicating items.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Update 1.1.1 Patch Notes

There's only one item in the patch notes, and that is "Fixed a serious bug affecting game balance".

That bug was the item duplication glitch which was allowing players to duplicate items using the inventory of a second player.

With that bug squashed, paying back Tom Nook will now have to be done honestly – no more boosting your bells through counterfeit goods, you cheeky so and so.
