When Will Lunar New Year Be In 2022?
The Lunar New Year for 2022 in-game will be on February 1st.
However, it seems that you will only be able to buy items for the event in real-time so time travelling will not work. From previous Lunar New Year events, it's fair to assume that you will be able to buy Lunar New Year items from Nook Shopping from January 30th but we will update this page as we learn more.
What Happens on Lunar New Year?
When you head into your game on the day of Lunar New Year, Isabelle will greet you as usual and notify you that Lunar New Year has begun. Your villagers will mention it too if you speak to them but aside from that, there seems to be very little that happens.
Lunar New Year in Past Games
Lunar New Year is an event that has occurred in the previous games too. It has been featured in some versions of City Folk and New Leaf, the predecessors to New Horizons.
Lunar New Year Items for 2022
Based on previous years, it seems that there are only a few items you can get that surround the Lunar New Year. As 2022 is not quite here yet, we can only assume that we will see these items from 2021 appear again:

- Lucky Pouch
- Lucky Red Envelope
