Animal Crossing: New Horizons starts you off with basic supplies and goals once you step on your new island. Among these goals are acquiring certain items, talking to characters, and getting the lay of the land. However, it's much easier to get things going on your island when you can cook food, light up an area, and rest.
All of this can be done at a campfire, and if you're a new player in New Horizons, you might need some help getting one going. In the guide below, you can see all of the ways to make a campfire in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Making a campfire in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Luckily for players, it doesn't take much to craft a campfire. It's one of the first objectives that the game wants you to accomplish, so you won't need to acquire any advanced materials in order to make it. To craft a campfire, you will need the following materials:
- Tree branches (3)
Tree branches can be found by shaking down trees scattered around your island. This is one of the most common materials to find early on and at any point during your playthrough in New Horizons. You will likely never run out of tree branches to shake, as you can always plant more.
You can also shake any tree you would like to get a branch, so try a basic tree or one of your fruit trees. We went over how to get specific fruits in New Horizons, such as apples, in previous guides if you want to expand your island's produce selection.
Once you have enough tree branches, you can craft together at Tom Nook's workbench to make a campfire.
Purchasing a campfire
You can also purchase a campfire for 800 Bells, which is a seemingly unnecessary way of going about this particular endeavour, given how easy it is to grab tree branches. We'd recommend the crafting option unless you want to spend some Bells on a campfire in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
