Animal Crossing New Horizons: How to craft log stakes and build a bridge for your island

Animal Crossing New Horizons is here, and you're likely already putting together your perfect town.

If you're looking to make it easy for islanders to explore the entirety of the area, you'll want to build bridges over rivers.

Here's how to do just that.

How To Make Log Stakes In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

If you're looking to build a bridge, you'll need Wood Stakes. Thankfully, these are fairly easy to construct.

The recipe is unlocked early on, and you'll need to simply craft it using three pieces of wood – so just hack some trees with your axe.

How To Build Bridges In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

You can build a very basic bridge using the 'Bridge Construction kit' recipe that Tom Nook gives you when you invite three new residents to live on the island.

This is pretty cheap, and offers a very basic bridge.

  • Clay (4)
  • Log stakes (4)
  • Stone (4)

Don't expect to build any fancy bridges early on in New Horizons. For one, you'll need your Resident Services building to be upgraded to the point where you can sit opposite Tom Nook in a chair.

Once you're at that point, select the 'Let's talk infrastructure' option and select a bridge, then a location to have it built.

During construction, you'll need to donate bells to keep the process moving.

Considering the smallest bridge is 98,000 bells, don't expect to buy too many.
