Animal Crossing New Horizons Is Once Again The UK's Biggest Seller

Animal Crossing New Horizons is once again the top-selling game in the UK this week, as Nintendo proves it doesn't really need to release any other games in 2020 (aside from Pikmin 3).

The Switch-exclusive knocked Ghost of Tsushima from its perch and is continuing to sell like hotcakes, according to the UKIE charts.

Animal Crossing Tops The Sales Chart Again

The game recently added a sizeable update that introduces dreaming and a weekly fireworks display, and it seems that was enough to propel it back to the summit.

In fact, while Nintendo fans call out for a Nintendo Direct (or any announcements, really), the company has no fewer than six titles in the top 10. The ever-popular Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is at number 3, while Paper Mario dropped to number 7. Rounding out the top 10 are Ring Fit Adventure and 51 Worldwide Games, at 9 and 10 respectively.

Meanwhile, FIFA 20 has risen from 19 to 4, perhaps based on the FA Cup weekend and the return of Champions League football - as well as EA revealing new information about this year's game.

Also, somehow, people are still buying GTA 5 - meaning there are probably around eight people in the world now that don't own it. Also, remember Fast and Furious: Crossroads? It debuted at number 17, with reviewers calling it "the worst game of the year". Oof.
