But some have turned out a lot more popular than others in the New Crossings community, and a tier list of sorts has formed around the most popular characters. Price and popularity can fluctuate depending on who has them and how in-demand they are. Some features like backstory, behaviour or unique appearances can also impact the popularity of a character. Though there has been some shifting in the "tier list" since the game's release, the upper echelons have been largely consistent in recent months. At time of writing, here's the ten most popular villagers in New Horizons.

Most Popular Villager
As you can see from the tier list above, the current most popular character is Raymond, a small, suited grey cat with Heterochromia (different colours in both eyes). Raymond has become something of an icon for New Horizons, and as odd as it sounds, has serious value as a commodity to be traded between players' islands, such is his popularity. If you have him on yours, you could make a lot of Bells by letting him go to somebody else's island.
Of course, to do that, you'll need to know how to trade villagers between islands. Alternatively, go find out how to catch a shark, one of the rarest fish in the game.
