Age of Empires 4 Gets Major Update Next Week, Adding UI Features and Balancing Changes


Age of Empires 4 launched last month and Relic Entertainment's giving it considerable support. After publishing a post-launch roadmap, 4's first major patch goes live next week, implementing requested changes from fans.

As spotted by PCGamesN, this upcoming Winter Update will see major balance updates. The French Hulk ship is being weakened, The Cavalry are now more vulnerable to standard and elite crossbowmen, as well as spearmen.

Relic's also fixing the Holy Roman Empire's prelate, which will allow nearby units to be inspired even after being pushed away. The Mongols are also being tweaked with their 'superior mobility' trait, ensuring the 'speed modifier' is ‘appropriately applied’ from now on.
