Age of Empires 4 is the latest instalment in the popular real-time strategy series. With advanced 3D graphics that make every empire look that bit better, players are likely looking to see to what extent they can customise their builds. You can build various constructions as you advance through the Ages, but can you rotate buildings?

Can You Rotate Buildings
When placing a new unit down in Age of Empires 4, there is little to no customisation options available. Sadly, this also includes rotation, limiting buildings to being constructed as they are placed, and ultimately meaning you cannot rotate buildings in Age of Empires 4.
This is much like Age of Empires 2, where each building has to face a set direction, with the player having little to no control over what that direction might be. Yet, this is a step back from features introduced in Age of Empires 3, in which players could customise their building placement to no end with a scroll of their mouse wheel.
The upside is that every unit is square in dimensions, so your empires can still look aesthetically pleasing even if all of your Houses aren't exactly facing the same direction. There's every chance that rotation of buildings could be implemented in future, maybe with the use of mods, so that players can have their empires looking exactly as they desire. Yet, right now, there is no way for it to be done.
We suppose that this makes for a more realistic experience on the whole, and encourages players to focus more on their plight rather than having nice-looking towns. However, we will admit that it would be nice to have a rotation feature implemented. There is hope that this customisation feature could be added into a future Age of Empires update if we're lucky.
