Batgirl is bringing back several DC characters and one of those returning might be Black Canary.

This DC film is being headlined by Bilall Fallah and Adil El Arbi. Through Fallah's Instagram (via We Got This Covered), the co-director posted fan art that features some of Batgirl's characters, along with Jurnee Smollett's Dinah Lance.

This is far from a coincidence, as Canary was spotted through production photos on Batgirl's set. Smollet's character was evident alongside Keaton's Batman. Given Batgirl features the Beetlejuice actor's return as the Caped Crusader, it wouldn't be crazy to speculate that Black Canary is coming back.

Jurnee Smollett sang the character to life in 2020's Birds of Prey. Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn led an ensemble of superheroes that also included Huntress, Cassandra Cain, and Renee Montoya. With Canary potentially returning, it wouldn't be a surprise if her DC counterparts also showed up.

Batgirl has been filming for several weeks now. Other details have spilled from the film's set, including references to Lex Luthor and even Robin. J.K. Simmons was also spotted, in what appears to be an interesting twist for Commissioner Gordon.
