After a leak just one day earlier, Josef Fares’ award-winning adventure game Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Remake has been officially revealed.

Revealed during The Game Awards 2023 celebrations, the upcoming remake will bring Fares’ iconic co-op title to modern platforms with a host of new improvements that weren’t possible on its original Xbox 360/PS3 release.

First released in 2013, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Remake marks the ten year anniversary of the narrative adventure. The title went on to win the 2014 gaming BAFTAs award for Best Innovation.

Since the original release of Brothers, Josef Faree has continued to develop games in the co-op narrative style. The game director helmed the prison escape game No Way Out and the romance-fixing divorce story in It Takes Two.

“Guide two brothers on an epic fairy tale journey from visionary Swedish film director, Josef Fares,” the game’s original synopsis reads. “Control both brothers at once as you experience co-op play in single player mode, like never before. Solve puzzles, explore the varied locations and fight boss battles, controlling one brother with each thumbstick.”

Releasing on February 28th 2023, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Remake holds many graphical additions over its original versions. Seemingly created in Unreal Engine 5, the game’s new rendering feature look stunning compared to its original incarnation.

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Remake releases on Xbox Series, PS5 and PC on Steam, GOG and Epic Games Store next year.
