Metaphor ReFantazio is scheduled to come out on October 11, 2024. It is currently available for pre-order at select retailers and can be wish-listed on Steam.

Metaphor ReFantazio Story
Atlus' stories within its games are often steeped in metaphors and allegories, and it doesn't seem as though Metaphor ReFantazio will be any different.
However, this time around, there doesn't seem to be a single high school in sight. Instead, players will follow the protagonist and their companion, Gallica. After an assassination on the king, the throne lies empty. Instead the next monarch must be elected by the people, and thus, the protagonist and Gallica adventure on, seeking to lift the curse from the kingdom's lost prince.
Metaphor ReFantazio Gameplay
If you prefer your RPGs to have either action-based combat or use a turn-based system, Metaphor ReFantazio may be a bit of a headscratcher for you. The game actually aims to blend the two combat types.
You’ll be able to deal damage to enemies in real time, as you would expect from an action RPG, but if they survive your attack, this will trigger a turn-based battle.

The latest trailer for Metaphor ReFantazio was shown off at Summer Games Fest 2024. Titled 'AWAKEN,' it gave us a new look at the transformation and summoning system that will be included in-game, as well as the open-world and 2D art style. We expect even more information about the game to be revealed as the release date creeps closer and closer.
