Not sure how to release beasts in Hogwarts Legacy? If you've filled up your Vivarium in Hogwarts Legacy, it might be time to release a couple of beasts you have to make some space for newer ones. That, or you can learn how to expand the Vivarium to fit more. Either way, you should know which beasts are best to keep, sell, and release.
Know that to release beasts, you first need to complete a couple of quests to know how to capture beasts, put them in a Vivarium, and then sell them. You'll also have to make sure your Vivarium and beast inventory is full before you get the need to release your beasts too. But you can release them even if your Vivariums or inventory isn't full.

How to release beasts in Hogwarts Legacy
As part of the Beast class quest, Poppy Sweeting will teach you how to tame beasts. You'll be able to unlock the “The Elf, the Nab-Sack, and the Loom” quest to gain the abilities to capture, tame, sell, and release beasts.
In the quest, Deek the Elf shows you how to use the Nab-Sack to rescue magical animals that are being threatened by poachers. When you get back to Deek in the Room of Requirement, you'll then unlock the Vivarium.
You can use the Vivarium to house your magical beasts, but if your Vivarium becomes full, you'll need to toss one animal out to make room for another. Much like how gear slots work, however, it's up to you whether you release a beast to quickly make room for another, or head into town to sell them for cash instead.
