Pokémon Snap is coming soon, with a new range of roads to walk with your camera, getting snapshots of the wildlife as you go. However, people will understandably want to know what consoles the game will be on, with the first priority being: is Pokémon Snap on the Nintendo Switch?

Is the New Pokémon Snap on Nintendo Switch?

Yes, the new Pokémon Snap is on the Switch, and only on the Switch! Nintendo have a strong claim on the Pokémon franchise and aren’t likely to share it without a massive incentive, so as of writing the game will only be coming out on the Switch, with no planned ports for mobile, other consoles or PC that we know of (though we’ll be sure to update this page if we hear more along the way).

Is the Original Pokémon Snap on Nintendo Switch?

The previous Pokémon Snap, released for the Nintendo 64 in 1999, is not available to play on the Switch, with no known plans to release it any time soon. However, aside from playing it by buying old cartridges and consoles second-hand, you can play it by buying it on the Wii U as a digital exclusive, available here. If you’re super desperate to give it a go, dig the Wii U out of the cupboard and try it as part of the Virtual Console experience.
