Modern Warfare 3 Player Uncovers Hidden 'Get High' Easter Egg

Fans have discovered an amazing easter egg in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 when taking part in the limited-time Getting High event. As expected, this is a deep cut that fans of weed will appreciate, especially since this is in an event called, well, “Getting High.”

HypnotoMan posted on the game’s subreddit, revealing that they played the Get High event for a long time since they didn’t exit the mode. Players who get far enough in this platforming challenge can find a secret room near one of the moving platforms. In this secret room is a skeleton on a sofa watching television while holding a cigarette.

This Modern Warfare 3 easter egg is a reference to an old commercial about how weed is bad and you shouldn’t smoke it every day, if at all. Now that cannabis is more regularly accepted by society, these commercials are more funny than anything else and seeing them referenced here is great.

After the initial disappointment that came with this shooter’s release, it’s good to see gamers finding their own fun here, especially cool easter eggs like this. We previously saw one fan max their level without killing anyone, showing a small bit of variety in a title where you should be killing everyone.

References like this aren’t too new to Modern Warfare 3, as the company has done some weirder pop culture crossovers recently. Whether it’s NBA All-Stars like Kevin Durant making an appearance or Nikki Minaj shooting down your friends, it’s fair to say the shooter has gone a bit whacky. It might not be crossover-centric like Fortnite, which recently introduced Billy Eilish, but there’s more leeway for sillier things now.
