Skull and Bones has been long-time coming and despite some negatives it still offers plenty. One of many activities you can engage in Skull and Bones is Hostile Takeovers. These are PvPvE events that can very much change your game if you are successful.

Hostile Takeover events in Skull and Bones are a thrilling blend of PvP and PvE challenges, which will reward you with valuable resources, including Manufacturing Territory and then Pieces of Eight. However, the game tells so little about how to launch Hostile Takeovers, what they are, and how to win. Well, let's delve deeper into the topic and explain what you need to do.

Skull and Bones Hostile Takeovers

Hostile Takeovers in Skull and Bones are world events, something similar to Diablo's Helltide. These will unlock for you after your Infamy rank is Kingpin and you finish the tutorial with Yanita.

Yanita will show you the basics of how to create a pirate empire and this includes the Hostile Takeover events. Once this is completed, Hostile Takeovers will start appearing across the Sea.

You can track where the event is by opening the Helm map. At the bottom of the map, you will be able to see how long until the next Hostile Takeover in Skull and Bones.

You will see red crown markers on the map when the event starts. These appear every 30 minutes and are spread throughout the map. Remember, there is a limited time during which you can join the fray and battle to win your expansion.

Once in the battle, you will face both AI-controlled defences guarding the Manufactory and other player crews desiring the same Manufactory. The crew that deals the most damage to the Manufactory within the allotted time claims victory.

If you want to win, we suggest you choose ships like the Padewakang, whose explosion perk can cripple defences. Keep an eye on the bar that represents the overall takeover progress. Every sunken ship and demolished building contributes to it.

Once the bar reaches 100%, the event will conclude, and the Manufactory will become yours. You can then assign the Manufactory to passively generate Pieces of Eight for you, a valuable resource, which can be exchanged at the Black Market for several different items.
