Starting the Ambush Investigation in Skull and Bones is a bit tricky as there is no clue about it. What you need to do is find a small bottle with a message in it. But where in the vast open Sea you will find a particular bottle to start the Skull and Bones Ambush Investigation.

Follow these steps to complete the Investigation as fast as possible:

• Your best bet is to bribe some Pirates to kickstart the investigation when you are on the Island of Sainte Anne.
• The next thing you should do is sail northwest from there until you reach the Ile of Michael, past the Islands of Moon.
• From there sail south until you discover Medium Ungwana Shipwreck. Here is where you will find your Ambush Investigation Catalizator, a.k.a the bottle.
• Once the bottle is found, a pop-up will redirect you towards the southwest part of the map, to the Batavia Reefs. As you approach the island, you will discover the Guard Tower that needs to be destroyed. It deals poison damage so beware.
• Once the Tower is eliminated, a symbol will appear, indicating the investigation area.
• Navigate to a reef with two shipwrecks, and follow the prompt to search the ship.
• The second charge will provide a clue about Arnold Silver burying something near Red Tul Loop at Dutchman's Camp.
• Travel to Dutchman's Camp, which is just south of the investigation area.
• Be cautious of the Tower at Dutchman's Camp, as it can deal significant damage.
• Head straight up the hill at Dutchman's Camp. Look for a red glow or follow the prompt to left-click and search for the buried treasure.
• If you are struggling, the precise location of the treasure is near the shovel and buckets, next to a tunnel entrance. Inside the treasure chest, you'll find another clue. Reading it completes the investigation.
