Hogwarts Legacy was initially released on February 10, 2023 for PS5, Windows, and the Xbox Series X/S platforms, but it's now time for the Hogwarts Legacy PS4 and Xbox One release time. Console players have been waiting for this launch after a few substantial delays.
When the game first released during its three-day early access period, Hogwarts Legacy had record-breaking viewership on Twitch, making it the most-watched single-player game of all time on the platform. The launch of the game on the PlayStation 4 and on Xbox may see a similar resurgence of streaming of Hogwarts Legacy on Twitch and YouTube.

Hogwarts Legacy PS4 and Xbox One release time and preload details
Thankfully the release date and time for Hogwarts Legacy on the PS4 and Xbox One are nice and simple, more so than the current gen launch was.
According to the Hogwarts Legacy official Twitter account, the game will be dropping on May 5, 2023, and releasing on a rolling midnight basis in your respective region. So, regardless of where you live in the world, you can get your copy of the game by 12 AM of that day. We're counting down to the time below.
Additionally, if you pre-purchased special editions of the game such as the Standard, Physical Deluxe, and Collector's Edition, these will all be available at that same release time as well.
How to preload Hogwarts Legacy on PS4 and Xbox One
In terms of preloading the game for your respective platforms, nothing has been revealed quite yet. However, we have a good idea based on the release of Hogwarts Legacy on other platforms.
Download sizes may vary per device such as on PC, Xbox Series X/S PS5. To preload the game, you must first make sure you have more than enough storage. On PS5, you needed 90GB of free space, so it'll likely be the same for older platforms.
For the Xbox One, you can simply open the Xbox app on your device and log-in to your Xbox account. You'll be able to search Hogwarts Legacy and tap the "Download to console" button on your linked console to preload the game. For the PlayStation 4, there haven't been any concrete details on preloading yet. So assume that you can only access the game once it releases on May 5.
