How to beat the Amadan Dubh boss in Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon

You encounter the Amadan Dubh boss fight during Chapter 5 of Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon. It's the evil faerie that you fight at the end of the Avalon Forest's funhouse, so it's fittingly circus-themed. Fortunately, you have access to both Cereza and Cheshire's abilities, which makes the fight that bit more straightforward.

First phase

The first phase of this fight consists of the first half of Amadan Dubh's health bar. To start with, it sits atop a spiky ball in the carnival arena, and rolls towards you. It's fairly easy to dodge these because a line appears on the ground to show where it'll roll.

When Amadan Dubh is stationary in between rolls, use Cereza's Thorn Bind move to tie it in place. While it's stuck and unable to move, use Cheshire to land some powerful attacks and whittle down its health bar.

After the first instance of this, a green stork will appear out of the ball. Using Cheshire's earth abilities, pull the stork to rip it out. This will daze Amadan Dubh once more, giving you another chance to land hits. Keep this going until you get its HP bar down to halfway, at which point the second phase begins.

Second phase

This time around, you've made Amadan Dubh angry. To start with, it sits atop a platform and fires bombs and rockets towards you. These are quite easy to dodge, because dark circle appear on the floor where a projectile is about to land. At these points, it's best to retract Cheshire, so you can just focus on one character.

Then three pillars will emerge from the ground, with Amadan Dubh hopping between each one. Once you learn the pattern in which it moves, anticipate its next spot and cast Thorn Bind on it. This leaves it susceptible to being shot by a cannon sat atop the circus, which knocks Amadan Dubh to the ground dazed, for Cheshire to then attack.

Repeat this until its health bar is completely depleted, at which point a quick-time event begins. All you need to do is time your button presses right to trap Amadan Dubh in a cannon and fire it away, defeating the boss for good.
