How To Play Sea of Thieves Cross-Platform

To make use of Sea of Thieves' crossplay features to play cross-platform, all you need to do is add your friends through the in-game menus and join a lobby together. There's no need to jump into your options menu and change a few settings, just take note of their Microsoft username and add them to your crew.

You should already have a Microsoft account as you are prompted to create one (and link it to your PlayStation account if you're on PS5) when you first start the game. This is also how you can reap the benefits of Sea of Thieves cross-progression, so you can transfer your data seamlessly between PS5, Xbox, and PC, so long as you link your accounts correctly.

If you’re joining an open lobby to team up with random players, crossplay will be enabled by default. You can disable this feature while adjusting your matchmaking preferences before starting a game.
